Manchurian Idli

Manchurian Idli is a fusion dish that combines the Indian staple, idlis, with Chinese flavors of Manchurian sauce. Here’s how you can make it:

Ingredients:

6-8 idlis, cut into small-sized pieces

1 onion, finely chopped

1 green bell pepper (capsicum), finely chopped

1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste

2 tbsp corn flour

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 tsp soy sauce

1 tsp tomato ketchup

1 tsp vinegar

1 tsp red chili powder

Salt to taste

Oil for frying

Chopped coriyander leaves for garnishing

Instructions:

Step-1 In a mixing bowl, combine corn flour, all-purpose flour, red chili powder, and salt. Add enough water to make a thick batter.

Step-2 Dip the idli pieces in the batter and deep fry them until golden brown. Drain them on a paper towel.

Step-3 Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until it turns transparent then add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.

Step-4 Add chopped bell pepper and sauté for 2-3 minutes or until it’s cooked but still crunchy. In a small mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, tomato ketchup, and vinegar Mix well and Add this mixture to the pan and stir until everything is well combined.

Step-5 Add the fried idli pieces to the pan and mix gently, so that the Manchurian sauce coats the idlis evenly.Garnish with chopped coriyander leaves and serve it hot.

Your Manchurian Idli is ready to be enjoyed as a unique and flavorful snack or even as a meal.
