Ingredients

  • 68 idlis, cut into small-sized pieces
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper (capsicum), finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp corn flour
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Chopped coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions

Step-1 In a mixing bowl, combine corn flour, all-purpose flour, red chili powder, and salt. Add enough water to make a thick batter.

Step-2 Dip the idli pieces in the batter and deep fry them until golden brown. Drain them on a paper towel.

Step-3 Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until it turns transparent then add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.

Step-4 Add chopped bell pepper and sauté for 2-3 minutes or until it’s cooked but still crunchy.

In a small mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, tomato ketchup, and vinegar Mix well Add this mixture to the pan and stir until everything is well combined.

Step-5 Add the fried idli pieces to the pan and mix gently, so that the Manchurian sauce coats the idlis evenly.

Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve it hot.
