· 1.5 cup RettaiKili Basmati rice
· 1 medium Onion (sliced thinly)
· 1 medium Carrot (chopped)
· 1.5 cup Green peas
· 5 French beans
· A bunch of Mint leaves
· 1.5 tablespoons of Ginger garlic paste
· Salt as required
· Oil as required
· Bay leaf, Cinnamon, Cloves, Green cardamom, Jeera, Star anise for tempering.
STEP 1. Rinse the rice 3-4 times in water until the water runs clear.
STEP 2. Soak the rice for 20-30 minutes in water.
STEP 3. Drain the water and keep the rice aside.
STEP 4. Heat oil in a deep pan or pot.
STEP 5. Add all the whole spices and Jeera for tempering.
STEP 6. When the spices are sauteed well, add the thinly sliced onions into the oil and saute, until it turns golden brown along with slit green chilies.
STEP 7. Add Ginger-garlic paste and give a nice turn.
STEP 8. Stir for 1-2 minutes.
STEP 9. Add Carrot, French Beans, Mint leaves, and stir it for a minute.
STEP 10. Pour 2.5 cups of water add salt as required.
STEP 11. Add the drained rice into the water while it rolling to boil,stir gently add salt if required.
STEP 12. Now cover the lid and cook the pulao in medium flame for 1 whistle.
STEP 13. Once done, fluff gently with a fork.
STEP 14. Serve the vegetable pulao garnished with coriander or mint leaves for your family.
